Call for Applications: FPI's 2015 New York Leadership Network

The Foreign Policy Initiative (FPI) is accepting applications for entry into the New York Leadership Network. Professionals with diverse backgrounds in government, the private sector, academia, nonprofit, and the military will be selected to join our network of leaders in the New York area. Membership to the FPI Leadership Network will open participants to invitation-only discussions and private receptions.

The FPI Leadership Network was developed as an opportunity for young professionals in the New York and Washington, D.C. area to engage in thoughtful and educational conversations on foreign policy and connect with notable thinkers and practitioners in international affairs.

The purpose of the Leadership Network is to bring together the next generation of foreign policy leaders and to foster high-level engagement with foreign policy experts from New York and Washington. Our Leadership Network represents a diverse class of applicants with varied backgrounds, experiences, and worldviews. The network is comprised of professionals in a variety of sectors who share FPI’s mission.

Program Description

Members of the New York Leadership Network will participate in a series of discussions, dinners, and events with influential foreign policy experts, authors, and practitioners in foreign affairs to engage in thoughtful and educational conversations on topics such as global finance, international terrorism, and multilateral institutions. All events will take place in New York City starting in the fall of 2015 and concluding in June 2016. Additionally, New York participants will be invited to FPI Leadership Network events in Washington, D.C.

Requirements & Expectations

Professionals interested in applying should have at least a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of professional experience or relevant graduate work. While U.S. citizenship is not required, we ask that applicants live in or near New York, or that they be able to travel to New York for events.

Professionals interested in applying for membership are asked to submit the following materials:

  • Letter of interest describing how the applicant will contribute to/benefit from joining
