Speaker Biography

Senator Marco Rubio was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010. In the Senate, he serves on the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations; the Select Committee on Intelligence; the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship; the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation; and the Joint Congressional-Executive Commission on China. From 2005-2009, Senator Rubio served as the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and as member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2000-2009. Senator Rubio is the author of 100 Innovative Ideas of Florida’s Future (2006); An American Son: A Memoir (2012); and American Dreams: Restoring Economic Opportunity for Everyone (2015). He received his B.A. from the University of Florida and his J.D. from the University of Miami.

Ms. Kathleen Troia "KT" McFarland is FOX News' national security analyst and a FOX News contributor since 2010. She appears regularly on all the FOX and FOX Business News shows. Ms. McFarland anchors's "DEFCON3," writes a regular column for the FOX Opinion page, and is also the weekly national security commentator for several national radio shows. Ms. McFarland held national security posts in the Nixon, Ford, and Reagan administrations.  She received the Defense Department's highest civilian award for her service as deputy assistant secretary of defense for public affairs during the Reagan Administration. Ms. McFarland studied at George Washington University, Oxford University, and MIT, with concentrations on nuclear weapons, China, and the Soviet Union.
