FPI Resources Regarding the Situation in Egypt and Libya
This week’s events in Egypt and Libya are a dramatic reminder that the Middle East and North Africa are still regions that will need America’s strategic thinking and resources for the immediate future. While President Obama has repeatedly said that “the tide of war is receding” in regards to Iraq and Afghanistan, steadfast American commitment to the area as a whole remains vital.
The Foreign Policy Initiative (FPI) is closely monitoring this rapidly-evolving situation, and believes that the following reports, op-eds, and blog posts will help policymakers formulate a response that is firmly rooted in America’s democratic ideals, and supports the brave Egyptians and Libyans who fight for their freedom in the face of belligerent radicals and would-be dictators.
